1st Edition of the National Competition on Media and Migration

As part of the 1st edition of the National Competition on Migration launched by IOM Morocco in November 2022, former GMMA student Soufiane El Hamry developed two awareness videos aimed at encouraging Moroccans, especially the Moroccan youth, to work on social inclusion and integration of migrants in Morocco by highlighting the perspectives of individuals residing in Morocco.

Soufiane was awarded first place in the competition by a jury made up o of the National Migration Observatory, the Directorate of Migration Affairs, the Moroccan network of journalists on migration, the High Institute of Information and Communication, the National Press Council and the Orient-Occident Foundation.

Soufine El-Hamry

Journalist freelancer
Soufine is a journalist freelancer, graduate of the Higher Institute of Information and Communication (ISIC-Rabat). Currently, he studies in a Master of Political and Social Communication at the same Institute. He had the opportunity to intern in different media companies, and to partake in many trainings and workshops related to journalism.

Soufine is also a social activist, highly motivated to work on topics related to Human rights, Minorities, Migration, Public health, Environment and Peace promotion. He believes that “change is a matter of awareness”.
