Years after the Marawi siege in the southern part of the Philippines- the armed conflict between the government forces and pro-ISIS militants in Marawi City that forcibly displaced nearly a hundred percent of residents in the city, different organizations redevelop, and rebuild the damaged city. But displaced residents have not yet returned to their homes even after five years.

Stanley Buenafe Gajete is an international multi-platform journalist and communication specialist from the Philippines for more than a decade. He currently works as a news correspondent for CNN Philippines. He was also a Philippine correspondent of The Voice of America (International news edition), Washington D.C., U.S.A, a news reporter of Kyodo News English- Japan's leading wire news agency, and editorial project manager at Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ). Gajete also worked for ABS-CBN as a story producer and production unit manager for News and Current Affairs. Aside from broadcast and multimedia, he also worked for two major newspapers in the country as a news writer before. He graduated Cum Laude from University of the Philippines, and is now finishing his masters degrees. He is also an international Journalism fellow of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, and WildEye- Oxpeckers Investigative Environmental Journalism for Asia, and Africa.
